Ripple Hires Top Amazon Manager And Continues To Attract High-Profile Executives

Devraj Varadhan of Amazon has joined Ripple as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Engineering. He will replace Christopher Kanaan, a longtime Blockchain enthusiastic.

The CEO of Ripple commented that he was thrilled to welcome the new member to the company’s All-Star Technology team.

Prior to being hired by Ripple, Varadhan served as vice President of engineering services at Amazon from October 2017 to December 2020.

In his statement, he claims that technological progress can have a  profoundly positive impact on humanity:

When I led engineering Teams at Amazon, I experienced first-hand, large-scale customer-oriented innovations that provided people with vital things.

According to Varadhan, the Ripple network will make the global financial network more efficient by connecting the possibilities of Blockchain to the Internet of values and making it as easy to transfer money. He said:

Ripple’s financial network RippleNet and the open development platform RippleX open up the possibilities of Blockchain and Digital Asset technology. They enable financial institutions, Startups, founders and entrepreneurs to dramatically improve the speed, cost and reliability of the way people around the world conduct transactions.

Ripple continues to attract high-profile executives

In December 2020, Sandie O’connor, ex-chief Regulatory Affairs Officer at JPMorgan, considered one of the most powerful women in banking, joined Ripple’s Board of directors.

This happened just a week before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) took Ripple to court for allegedly illegal XRP sales.

Despite the legal problems, Ripple apparently remains attractive for high-profile executives. We should wait and see how the SEC will decide about XRP fate in February 2021.
