From February 26 to 28, Tezos Ukraine will hold an online hackathon on the development of DeFi #TezosDeFiHackathon

Registration will close on February 26 at 16: 00 UTC time. Individual participants and teams can participate in the #TezosDeFiHackathon. The hackathon prize pool is $15,000.

According to Tezos Ukraine co-founder Sergey Vasilchuk, active participants will be able to continue developing their ideas, with the grant, and support of the Tezos Foundation.

The winners will be introduced to the main organizations: Tezos Foundation, TQ Tezos and Tezos Commons. And the winners will also be posted on Tezos social networks with 130,000 subscribers.

In February 2021, users deposited $40 billion in DeFi apps.
In the Tezos network, the number of smart contracts in January, 2021 increased by 135 times compared to 2020. This means that there are more DeFi apps on Tezos.

At the same time, the Baking Bad team reports that the number of active Tezos users is growing by an average of 7.8% per month. In total, 1 million accounts with a balance of more than 0 tezos are registered on Tezos.

The organizers are holding a hackathon to create more useful DeFi products for the growing Tezos ecosystem.

  • Abridge between tokens on the Ethereum (ERC20) and Tezos (FA2).

  • A decentralized fund like MolochDAO.
  • A DEX with orderbook and without AMM.

Mentors will be developers from the Tezos ecosystem. The authors of the challenges are developers from MadFish Solutions and Baking Bad. They will become mentors at #TezosDeFiHackathon.

Baking Bad is developing the TzKT blockchain browser, the Tezos Better Call Dev smart contract browser, and the Atomex wallet. The team received grants from the Tezos Foundation to develop these solutions.

MadFish Solutions is the team that develops the Thanos wallet, the QuipuSwap decentralized exchange, and the Solidity transpiler on Ligo Sol2Ligo.

The developers of MadFish Solutions last year won the first Eastern European hackathon Tezos. According to the CEO of the company, Matvey Sivoraksha, the team decided to continue developing solutions from the hackathon, because they liked the functional programming style of Tezos.

Another mentor is the blockchain developer Attic Lab and the lecturer on the development of smart contracts at Tezos, Mikhail Degtyarev.
