Dogecoin Founder Denies Partnering With Elon Musk to Launch a Scam Cat Cryptocurrency on Ethereum.
Dogecoin’s pseudonymous founder, Shibetoshi Nakamoto, has dismissed allegations that he recently collaborated with Elon Musk to create a scam Cat token on Ethereum.
The issue started following a chat Nakamoto had with Canadian-American actor Tommy Chong on Twitter, when the latter inquired whether he was involved in an illicit crypto project that was recently launched on Ethereum.
Chong’s inquiry came after Nakamoto disclosed that he has always loved cats. However, he does not seem to be a fan of cat coin and other cryptocurrencies launched on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
Nakamoto kicked against BSC tokens because, in recent times, scammers have been taking advantage of less expensive fees to launch several illicit projects on the blockchain, which has resulted in many investors getting scammed.
However, he noted that Ethereum-based tokens are better as crypto projects are required to pay a heavy fee before launching on the network.
Moments later, Chong made the inquiry:
“Somebody made a catcoin on Ethereum (ETH) yesterday. [I] thought it was you and Elon,” Chong said in his message to the Dogecoin founder.
Although Nakamoto’s response to Chong’s inquiry was not included in the chat that is circulating on social media platforms, several Telegram users claimed that the Dogecoin founder confirmed the allegation.
“Cats on ETH is theirs [Nakamoto and Musk] he sent Tommy a message confirming this in another way,” a Telegram user referred to as The Super Connector said.
Not happy with the fact that Chong had to publish their private conversation, the Dogecoin founder took to his Twitter page to deny the allegation saying:
“I have nothing to do with this stupid ass token […] Now if people are so fuc…g stupid they think Elon and I worked together to make a stupid fuc…g cat token. They are hopeless humans. Fu.k Telegram and all the scammy morons on it.”

Dogecoin founder and Elon Musk have had a good relationship over the years as the latter has continuously promoted the dog-themed cryptocurrency in a bid to prompt its widespread adoption.
