Shibetoshi: I’m Only Here Because Elon Musk Made DOGE Famous.

Shibetoshi has been hitting the headlines of late, thanks to his Twitter character that involves bashing cryptos and getting aggressive while at it.

Shibetoshi is Billy Markus, the co-creator of Dogecoin, a meme coin that has been around since 2015. The other co-creator is Jackson Palmer, an Australian who has recently been involved in a rather funny Twitter spat with Elon Musk.

For the last few days, Billy Markus has been a target of criticism on crypto Twitter, mainly because of his antagonism to cryptocurrencies. Many people don’t it kindly that he should be criticizing cryptos when he was the first guy to create a meme coin.

Not DOGE Leader

In an attempt to deflect the negative attention, Shibetoshi Nakamoto, as he calls himself on Twitter, has been sending out tweets to counter the attacks.

Responding to one crypto fan who told him to be humble in the crypto space considering that he created a meme coin, Billy said that his bashing of cryptos has nothing to do with being humble since he left the DOGE project over 7 years ago after starting it just a few months prior.

He went on to opine that he’s currently famous in the crypto space only because Elon Musk marketed DOGE and made it famous.

“this has nothing to do with being humble, I’m not the leader of dogecoin, i made it 8 years ago and left the project 7.5 years ago. the only reason i am here is because elon raised a lot of attention to it, I am fully aware of this. my objective is not to prop up doge.”

With that, Billy Markus seems to have a point. It’s a fact that Elon Musk has been heavily in support of Dogecoin for some time, even praising it for its energy efficiency. Elon has also been planning to work with a team of developers to advance the DOGE network.

Recently Elon Musk Applauded Dogecoin’s Billy Marcus and said “You’re humble bro. Billy’s sense of humor & irreverence is a big part of why people love Dogecoin,”

The Crypto Space Is Mostly Bullsh*t

According to Billy Markus, who doesn’t seem to want anything to do with cryptos anymore, the crypto space is mostly garbage. He recently said that all projects on Binance Smart Chain are garbage. He’s deeply convinced that most crypto projects launched these days are only aimed at benefiting a few people at the expense of the society.

Is Billy Markus right, or is he late in the crypto race?
