Garlinghouse responds to a joke about his beard in an Elon Musk-inspired tweet.

Despite being in the throes of an extended legal battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Ripple chief Brad Garlinghouse has not lost his sense of humor.

On Sunday, Garlinghouse responded to a joke about his beard with a tweet inspired by billionaire Elon Musk.

XRP the Standard Productions, a Twitter account dedicated to posting satirical content about XRP, had joked that the account admin had a better beard than the Ripple chief. Notably, Garlinghouse tweeted, “No way,” in mock surprise, opting to use the same response from Musk to a tweet he made on Friday.

As reported by The Crypto Basic, Garlinghouse had asserted in a tweet on Thursday that the SEC had acted shamefully and did not care about transparency or disclosures. Notably, to the surprise of many, the tweet elicited a response from Musk, who opted to feign surprise by commenting, “No way.”

It bears mentioning that Garlinghouse’s tweet followed the announcement that the SEC had finally handed over highly contested Hinman documents.

Notably, pro-Ripple attorney Jeremy Hogan described these statements in a recent video as a declaration of war. The attorney asserted that Garlinghouse appeared to be speaking with the belief that Ripple now had the upper hand.
