XRP whales have resumed activity, as the community witnessed a concentration of whale transactions in the past 24 hours, resulting in the movement of over 479M XRP tokens within two hours, with Ripple accounting for 100M tokens. Ripple’s Movement

The first whale transaction which involved 100M XRP ($34M) was carried out by Ripple 13 hours ago, as revealed by Whale Alert. Ripple transferred the tokens to an unknown address which has so far sent 33.5M tokens to another unidentified wallet. The latest transaction is the first inflow the address has recorded this year, after receiving 100M XRP from Ripple on Christmas Day.

The recent fund’s movement is the latest in a range of whale transactions Ripple has been involved in of late. Last December, the company sent 100M XRP to two unidentified wallets on two different occasions, after moving 100M tokens in a single transaction the month before that.

Other Whale Transactions

Barely an hour after Ripple’s latest transaction, a massive movement of 214 XRP ($73.5M) between two unidentified wallets occurred at 20:34 (UTC). This is the largest single XRP transaction in the past 24 hours. While both wallets remain unknown, the recipient wallet has so far transferred all the tokens to Bitstamp, Bitso, and Independent Reserve, leaving a balance of 100 XRP.

The next whale transaction indexed by Whale Alert involved the recipient wallet from the previous transaction. The wallet transferred 36M XRP ($12.3M) from the 214M tokens earlier received to a Bitstamp address yesterday at 21:21 (UTC).

Barely two minutes later the wallet sent a total of 70M XRP ($23.9M) to the same Bitstamp address in two uneven transactions. The first transaction involved 30M XRP ($10.2M) at 21:22 (UTC), while the second movement saw the transfer of 40M XRP ($13.7M) at 21:23 (UTC).

The latest whale transaction within the past 24 hours was an in-house movement between two Bitso wallets. The transaction which occurred yesterday at 21:30 (UTC) involved the transfer of 59.4M XRP ($20.4M) from one Bitso wallet to another. All these transactions amount to 479.4M XRP tokens.

Meanwhile, XRP is on track to print a winning candle for the fourth consecutive day. The asset recently set out on a recovery campaign that saw it eclipse the $0.35 zone before facing a rejection. XRP is currently trading at $0.3493, up 2.60% in the past 24 hours.
