Cardano community members slammed prominent cryptocurrency YouTuber Lark Davis for his derogatory tweet about the leading blockchain.

In a tweet today, Davis said Cardano has continued to amaze him by remaining in the top 10 cryptocurrency rankings despite having little utility.

According to Davis, Cardano has remained among the top 10 cryptos with “almost no” decentralized finance projects, few working retail decentralized applications (dApps), and only 70K daily transactions on average.

He added that ADA holders have continued to believe in Cardano’s potential despite its low utility.

“Cardano impresses me. It has remained in the top 10 forever in spite of almost no defi, few working retail dApps, and just 70,000 transactions per day on average. And yet, ada holders continue to steadfastly believe in Cardano’s potential and the chain’s vision!” Davis tweeted.

Cardano Community Slams Davis

As expected, the tweet did not sit well with members of the Cardano community, who took to the comment section to slam Davis over the post.

ADA Whale, a Twitter handle dedicated to sharing the latest updates about Cardano, described Davis’ tweet as “strange and passive-aggressive.” The handler further responded to Davis by highlighting Cardano’s achievements since the blockchain went live.

In contrast to Davis’ claim, ADA Whale said Cardano has several decentralized exchanges, synthetics, and multiple borrowing and lending protocols. Furthermore, ADA Whale added that Cardano is a pioneer in NFT and staking bonds, with over $8 billion staked.

“Also, you know as well as I do that those 70k transactions do not compare to what people on other chains do, as Cardano is UTxO based. Tokens are native assets, and we can do many transactions within a transaction. I can transfer a wallet of 200 NFTs, and it’ll be one transaction,” ADA Whale added while asking Davis to stop the misinformation campaign.

Aside from ADA Whale, other Cardano enthusiasts also bashed Davis for his derogatory tweet about the blockchain. Some Cardano community members accused Davis of trying to divert people’s attention from his numerous promotional crypto scams.

Meanwhile, Davis’ post about Cardano comes less than a month after Coindesk described the blockchain as a zombie chain. In an opinion piece last month, Coindesk speculated that Cardano would eventually become a zombie chain this year due to its low utility.
