The announcement sparked widespread jubilation in the Shiba Inu community as many SHIB enthusiasts took to the comment section to applaud the decision.
The team behind the Shibarium project also took time out to express gratitude to the Atomic Wallet team.
“We appreciate the support for our upcoming Layer2 Protocol,” the Shibarium team noted via its Twitter handle.

Ledger Also Declares Support for Shibarium
It bears mentioning that the announcement comes days after prominent cryptocurrency hardware wallet provider Ledger confirmed plans to support the upcoming Shiba Inu’s layer-2 network.
Ledger made this known in response to an inquiry made by a Shibarium fan who goes by the identity Burnsalot.NFT. In a recent tweet, Burnsalot.NFT enquired whether Ledger will provide support for the upcoming Shibarium protocol. Interestingly, Ledger confirmed that supporting the upcoming L2 network is part of its roadmap.
Shibarium is an Ethereum L2 network being built for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. The upcoming Shiba Inu’s L2 network is tipped to provide numerous features, including fast, cheap, and private transactions. In addition, some proponents suggest that the network would compete with Polygon in terms of scalability, operability, and security.
Shibarium’s hype has continued to attract the interest of the entire cryptocurrency community, as seen in the announcements made by Ledger and Atomic.
Meanwhile, Shibarium is yet to make its debut. While there is still no specific date for Shibarium’s launch, the development team has continued to insist that the beta version of the L2 network will soon roll out.
