In a remarkable achievement, the Shiba Inu Community successfully reduced the supply of SHIB by a record-breaking 3,269,676,832 (3.26B) tokens in April 2023. The community achieved this feat through a total of 125 transactions.

This marks a 107.44% decrease in Shiba Inu’s burn rate compared to the past month, where 6,782,788,547 (6.78B) SHIB were removed from circulation forever through 540 distinct transactions.
Koyo Leads Shib Burns
The top SHIB burner of the month was Koyo (KYO), a decentralized finance (DeFi) project built on the Ethereum blockchain. This Community-led SHIB burn project permanently removed a staggering 2,598,503,373 (2.59B) SHIB from circulation in two record-breaking transactions.
On April 9, Koyo sent a great 1,104,224,812 (1.10B) SHIB to the dead wallet in a single transaction, making Shiba Inu Community jubilant. The project took things further on April 14 by executing another record-breaking transaction and destroying 1,494,278,561 (1.49B) SHIB.
Since its inception, Koyo has burned 8,757,565,854 (8.75B) SHIB through multiple transactions.
