XRP investors might be ahead of the curve, as current data suggests up to 3.7 million wallets, representing 77% of the total 4.8 million wallets, hold less than 500 XRP.
Francis Bovine Swift, the developer of XRPL analytical resource Rich-list.info, first called attention to this metric in a recent post on X. Francis highlighted this reality while addressing XRP investors who might feel they hold less XRP than is significant.
According to Francis, the next time investors look at the XRP Rich List and ponder their position within the list, they should bear in mind that up to 3.6 million wallets hold less than 500 XRP.

XRP Wallets Stats
Current data suggests that the number of accounts holding less than 500 XRP is actually higher, amounting to 3.759 million wallets as of press time.
Notably, according to stats, the XRP Ledger boasts 4.8 million wallets as of press time. The number of wallets on the network has increased since dropping from 4.736 million to 4.659 million wallets in June. This wallet decline stemmed from Poloniex’s decision to delete thousands of wallets in June.
Francis’ disclosure confirms that a significant number of the current 4.8 million XRP wallets, about 77%, hold between 0 and 500 XRP. Moreover, only 1,972 wallets, representing 0.041% of total wallets, hold 1 million XRP and above.
In addition, further data from rich-list.info shows that about 1% of all XRP wallets, totaling 48,099 accounts, hold balances equal to or greater than 66,950 XRP currently worth $32,129. Meanwhile, only 4,810 accounts, representing 0.1% of total wallets, have 446,862 XRP ($214,449) or above.
Still Early
An interesting point from this disclosure is that the statistics reveal an interesting perspective when considering the global population of over 8 billion people. The 4.8 million XRP wallets represent a mere fraction of the world’s population.
