Edward Snowden Says He Was Looking at Bitcoin Charts Amid Super Bowl Frenzy

Despite the massive intrigue that trailed the Super Bowl game this weekend, Bitcoin bull Edward Snowden claims his focus was on BTC charts.

The eclectic weekend that featured the clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers got the whole of the US talking. The star-studded sporting event mimics and the drama associated with it reflect a similar trend in the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Bitcoin price had an equally exciting week with relatively mild volatility that pushed the price from a low of $46,800 to a high of $48,969.37. The thrilling price fluctuations in the price of BTC had Snowden glued to the charts, a move applicable to many dedicated traders.

Mixed Crypto Feelings at the Super Bowl

There is a strong affinity between the digital currency ecosystem and the Super Bowl event. As one of the most watched sporting events in the country in the year, top crypto trading platforms chose to expend millions of Dollars to showcase their ads in subsequent editions.

However, as spotted by Fox Business Journalist Eleanor Terrett, cryptocurrencies were notably absent at the Super Bowl again this year.

In 2022, crypto exchanges outcompeted themselves to place ads at the Super Bowl with the now-bankrupt FTX Derivatives Exchange displaying an Ad that featured legendary Comedian Larry David.

Many labeled the showing at the time as unsustainable, and the trends for the past 2 years have proven this. Notably, Artificial intelligence (AI) adverts lit up the arena this year with ads from the likes of Microsoft Copilot and Amazon Web Services (AWS) aired to millions of viewers.

Stylish Bitcoin Presence

While crypto may be absent from the Super Bowl, Jack Dorsey, billionaire investor and the CEO of Block Inc showcased the coin in grand style with his Satoshi Bitcoin shirt.

Jack Dorsey is a known proponent of Bitcoin and a big figure in the broader tech world. His Bitcoin Satoshi shirt marked a visible glimpse of publicity for the industry which now boasts active spot BTC ETF products trading on regulated national exchanges.
