The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has been witnessing positive momentum in recent times, with four pivotal developments surrounding multiple projects recorded this week.

Jack, a prominent XRP community figure, unveiled a list of these developments in a recent post on X. While none of them directly involves XRP, the network’s native token, the incidents underscore the attention the XRPL is garnering in recent times and contribute to its adoption.

XPUNKs to the Actual Moon

To the moon” is a popular phrase used by crypto proponents to express optimistic expectations that the price of a cryptocurrency will significantly increase in value, metaphorically shooting up to as high as the moon.

However, crypto projects have recently taken to launching physical representations of their assets to the actual moon through space shuttles. One of the latest projects to embark on this event is Dogecoin, with a physical DOGE token onboarding the Vulcan Centaur Rocket launched by the United Launch Alliance (ULA) last month.

Most recently, XRPL-based NFT project XPUNKs became the first NFT collection to launch on the moon. Texas-based aerospace firm Intuitive Machines saw Odysseus, its lunar lander, set off on a Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX on Thursday.

The lunar lander had a disk filled with important data and art collections from prominent artists such as Van Gogh and Picasso. Interestingly, the disk also contained an XPUNKs collection, essentially engraving XPUNKs on the actual moon.

xSPECTAR Lands Sell Out

xSPECTAR, an NFT and Metaverse project on the XRP Ledger, recorded one of the bullish developments in the XRPL ecosystem this week. Notably, the xSPECTAR Metaverse world contains a total of 88,888 plots of land across eight different maps.

The project has been witnessing massive demand, with its plots selling out rapidly. Investors have continued purchasing plots from such regions as Beach City, Mountain City, New York, and Marina City. Overall, the project recorded a sale of 23,000 plots in the first nine hours.

Notably, as a result of this increased demand, several regions have been sold out. The specter team confirmed that Beach City’s plots have reduced to 2,700, projecting it as the next region to sell out.

TestRP Launches XRP Wallet Messenger

Another pivotal development in the XRP Ledger ecosystem this week involved the launch of a browser extension with messaging capabilities for investors. TestRP, a messaging layer for the XRPL, introduced this innovative feature on Valentine’s Day.

The browser extension allows owners of XRP wallet addresses to engage in wallet-to-wallet conversations with other users. It also allows for the transfer of XRP and other XRPL assets. Notably, the extension is compatible with multiple browsers, including Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, and Opera.

Casino Coin to Extend to Other Networks

Casino Coin, an online blockchain-based gambling project on the XRP Ledger, is now looking to extend its base to other networks in a bid to go multichain. The team behind the project announced this in a Medium release this week.

According to the announcement, the Casino Coin project looks to construct a special bridging protocol that would help facilitate interoperability with other blockchain networks. They plan to begin with bridging to Ethereum, Solana, and XRPL sidechain Xahau

While XRP has remained the focal point of the XRP Ledger, especially with respect to expected adoption, projects such as these can also contribute to this adoption. The developments surrounding them are poised to drive utility to the network further.
