Shiba Inu Team Says You Can’t Quote RYOSHI And Cry For Burns

Date:

A Shiba Inu official has unearthed a message from Ryoshi, the founder of SHIB, to address concerns about SHIB burn.

Recently, Lucie, a key figure in the Shiba Inu team’s social media outreach, commented on the ongoing discussions surrounding SHIB token burns.

The message comes amid mounting concerns about Shiba Inu burns, mainly due to the prolonged absence of token burns by the Shiba Inu team.

Recall that the Shiba Inu crew initiated SHIB token burning using gas fees generated from the Shibarium blockchain in early December 2023. This process persisted for about five weeks, during which the team eliminated over 43 billion tokens in five phases.

However, the last burn occurred in early January, marking nearly six days without burns from the Shiba Inu team. This development has raised concerns among community members, who continue to advocate for more SHIB token burns.

Message from Shiba Inu Founder Ryoshi Resurfaces

Lucie took to X on Thursday to address the growing frustrations voiced by community members regarding the cessation of SHIB token burns since January.

She first expressed astonishment at individuals who have never utilized Shibarium yet are complaining about Shibarium-powered token burns. She emphasized that Shiba Inu token burns are a collective effort involving the entire community, not solely the development team’s responsibility.

Building upon this perspective, Lucie recalled a message from Shiba Inu’s founder to the community regarding SHIB burns. “What have you done for Shib’s growth? How much have you burned?” Ryoshi remarked as Lucie cited.

SHIB  Burn is a Collective Effort

The cited remark urged community members to reflect on their contributions to the ecosystem’s growth before criticizing the development team.

Notably, the Shiba Inu crew has repeatedly outlined the importance of community involvement in fueling Shibarium’s utility and adoption. They have emphasized the correlation between increased usage of Shibarium and subsequent SHIB burns.

With the increased usage of Shibarium, more transaction fees are generated and allocated toward token burns. While the burn schedules that have taken place so far have been manual, efforts are in place to migrate to an automated system.

Addressing those frustrated by the pace of SHIB burn, the Shiba Inu representative remarked:

“If you’re not happy with what the Shiba ecosystem does, then do it yourself. Burn and develop better tools.”
