Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, says the beta testing of the P2E version of the Shiba Eternity game will commence by next quarter.
Shytoshi Kusama has stirred excitement among SHIB holders following his recent comments on the upcoming launch date of the ecosystem’s collectible card game (CCG) “Shiba Eternity.”
During a recent AMA session on the Shibarium Tech channel on Discord, DaVinci, the server’s admin, asked Kusama to disclose when the community can start testing the game.
Interestingly, Kusama deviated from the usual “soon” answer he uses to respond to queries about project release dates. Instead, he mentioned that the beta testing would commence next quarter based on his understanding.

His response stirred jubilation on the Shibarium Tech channel as Shiba Inu community members anticipated the game’s release.
Shiba Eternity Advisor Shares Similar Sentiment
Kusama’s projected timeline coincides with a similar update shared by Mazrael, a Shiba Inu ecosystem team member and advisor to the game.
In a March 12 tweet, Mazrael disclosed that developers are testing the game in-house and are rectifying some bugs associated with the version developed by PlaySide Studios. Furthermore, Mazrael stressed that the team is a step closer to launching the game for beta testing.

Shiba Eternity Sees Widespread Adoption
For context, Shiba Eternity is a Shiba Inu-themed strategic card battle game launched in October 2022. PlaySide Studio’s affiliation with the game appealed to gamers, thus contributing significantly to its number of players.
Shiba Eternity quickly attracted over 500,000 gamers. To boost its widespread adoption, the team introduced a monthly tournament in which players shared a $1,000 prize pool.
Last year, Shiba Inu’s lead developer raised the prize pool to $1,000 from $50 to drive adoption. However, it remains uncertain whether the Shiba Inu ecosystem team will continue the contest in the game’s upcoming play-to-earn (P2E) version.
In the meantime, developers are working to deploy the game on the blockchain. Shiba Inu marketing specialist Lucie revealed that the P2E version of Shiba Eternity would roll out this year, with Shiboshi NFTs functioning as unique in-game assets.
