Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has unveiled several upcoming initiatives aimed at strengthening collaboration with the XRP ecosystem.
The Cardano founder revealed these initiatives during a surprise AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on August 22. During the AMA, he revealed that he attended a roundtable event with key figures from other leading cryptocurrency projects.
Some of the attendees include Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov, and the founder and CEO of Near Protocol, Ilya Polosukhin.
The recent gathering highlights ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration across the cryptocurrency industry—a cause Hoskinson has consistently championed since last year.
Notably, Hoskinson revealed that he and Garlinghouse had a ‘great conversation’ about potential partnerships within the XRP ecosystem. He subsequently revealed some initiatives lined up for the XRP ecosystem.
XRP Support Coming to Lace Wallet By Year-End
Hoskinson confirmed that Cardano’s official light wallet, Lace, will support XRP by the end of this year. In April, he first disclosed plans to integrate XRP into Lace, allowing users to store, send, and receive XRP through the blockchain wallet.
However, he did not mention when this support will go live. In his recent AMA, he clarified that the rollout of XRP support on Lace will be completed before the close of 2025.
Joint Cardano and XRP Event
Furthermore, Hoskinson floated the idea of hosting a joint Cardano and XRP event, featuring key community figures like pro-XRP lawyer John Deaton. In response, Deaton said it would be an honor to work with Hoskinson and other prominent figures in the crypto industry.
It would be an honor and pleasure to be present – working together with @IOHK_Charles and other leaders within the crypto ecosystem. https://t.co/HWPHj9ORoH

Hoskinson’s joint event is aimed at strengthening the relationship between the XRP and Cardano communities, which were previously strong adversaries between 2022 and early 2024.
However, Hoskinson ended the feud last year and announced several joint initiatives, like extending Midnight airdrop benefits to XRP holders.
For context, roughly 2.21 million XRP wallets qualify for the Midnight airdrop. Of the total 24 billion NIGHT supply, the Midnight team allocated 2.623 billion tokens to XRP users.
Dedicated XRP Team to Join Midnight Project
Given XRP’s involvement in Midnight, the Cardano founder revealed plans to create a dedicated XRP team within the project, with a potential focus on its commercial aspect.
Meanwhile, Hoskinson claimed over 70,000 users across the eight supported blockchains have claimed roughly 1.6 billion NIGHT tokens in the ongoing Scavenger Mine. However, he did not disclose how many NIGHT tokens XRP community members have claimed so far.
