Ripple, which has been unveiling the line-up of speakers for its upcoming conference, made an interesting announcement on Thursday. Specifically, Ripple disclosed that Patrick J. Witt, a representative from the White Houseโs Digital Assets Council, will speak at its conference.
The announcement, which captured the attention of the XRP community, underscores the U.S. government’s importance of digital assets. For context, Witt is the executive director of the Presidentโs Council of Advisors on Digital Assets.
The committee spearheads the industryโs political priorities, particularly its push for favorable regulations. Witt became the council’s executive director in August, following the resignation of Bo Hines.
Weโre excited to welcome @patrickjwitt from the White House's Digital Assets Council to our keynote speaker lineup at Ripple Swell 2025.
This is a conversation you can't miss.

Validation of Rippleโs Role in the U.S. Financial System?
Wittโs inclusion among the line-up of speakers has sparked bullish reactions among XRP proponents. Some community members interpreted it as a strong signal of institutional and governmental recognition of Rippleโs technology and its role in shaping the future of digital finance.
In particular, amid Wittโs involvement in Ripple’s fast-approaching conference, Chad Steingraber stressed that critics should no longer question Rippleโs role in the United Statesโ new financial system.
His assertion comes amid widespread speculation about the potential integration of XRP into the U.S. financial system.
In June, community figure SMQKE suggested that XRP could play a role in FedWire’s annual settlement processโvalued at over $1 trillionโthrough Rippleโs collaborations with Volante Technologies and Finastra. It is worth noting that both Volante and Finastra are key players in the FedWire’s financial infrastructure.
While that bold claim initially sparked mixed reactions, the White Houseโs participation at Ripple Swell is now being viewed by many as a validation of that vision.
Ripple Swell 2025
Notably, Rippleโs annual Swell event brings together global financial leaders, policymakers, and blockchain innovators to discuss trends in payments, tokenization, and regulatory developments. The event will hold on November 4 – 5, 2025, in New York City, with ticket sales ending today.
Witt will join other prominent figures speaking at the conference. They include Ripple executives such as Brad Garlinghouse, Chris Larsen, and Monica Long, as well as policymakers such as New York Rep. Ritchie Torres and European Parliament Member Billy Kelleher.
More top financial figures from BlackRock, BNY Mellon, Kraken, Bitwise, Citi, and Fidelity will also speak at the conference. In its latest announcement, Ripple described the upcoming conference as a must-attend event for investors and industry participants.
