ADA Taker Sellers Lead by $116.7M in 30 Days as Cardano Tests $0.18

Cardano’s month-long decline has been accompanied by persistent aggressive selling in the perpetual futures market, with ADA taker sellers exceeding taker buyers by approximately $116.7 million over the past 30 days.

EdgeorNot’s cumulative volume delta data shows ADA falling 28.6% over the same 30-day period, while sellers continued initiating more trades than buyers across Binance, OKX and Hyperliquid perpetual markets.

ADA currently trades near $0.183, down about 6.7% over the latest 24 hours, putting the $0.18 region under renewed pressure.

ADA Selling Pressure Persists Across Multiple Timeframes

The 30-day CVD reading is not an isolated result.

Over the past seven days, ADA recorded approximately $12.6 million more taker selling than taker buying, while price declined 4.8%. The latest 24-hour CVD series shows another $9.7 million net taker-selling imbalance alongside a roughly 7% price decline.

Cumulative volume delta measures which side is initiating trades with market orders. A negative reading does not mean more ADA was sold than bought—every completed trade contains both sides. Instead, it shows that sellers have been more willing to cross the spread and accept available bids.

The continued negative reading therefore confirms that aggressive sellers have been driving much of Cardano’s recent futures activity.

This aligns with the broader price weakness. The Crypto Basic previously identified $0.18 as an important downside area after ADA recorded three consecutive bearish closes.

$0.174 Becomes Important if $0.18 Fails

The derivatives structure becomes more interesting below current price.

EdgeorNot’s liquidation model places the largest modeled long-liquidation cluster beneath ADA near $0.1744, where roughly $1.9 million in leveraged longs could face liquidation.

Nearby concentrations also appear at $0.1749, $0.1738, $0.1723 and $0.1718.

These are modeled liquidation zones rather than publicly disclosed stop orders, and they do not establish that ADA must trade there.

However, a sustained break beneath $0.18 while CVD remains strongly negative would put price closer to this dense $0.174-$0.172 leverage pocket. Forced closures could then add to existing sell pressure.

The area also sits close to levels highlighted in earlier The Crypto Basic coverage, where ADA’s breakdown structure put approximately $0.1712 in focus.

Holding $0.18 Despite Selling Would Tell a Different Story

The opposite scenario would be equally important.

If CVD continues falling while ADA holds around $0.18, it would suggest that passive buyers using limit orders are absorbing aggressive market selling.

That would not automatically confirm a bottom, but it would create a potential divergence between price and order flow.

Cardano recently rebounded from support around $0.1824, although that recovery failed to develop into a sustained move higher.

For a more constructive short-term setup, ADA would need to defend the $0.18 region while the negative CVD begins moderating. A recovery toward $0.19-$0.20 with improving taker flow would provide stronger evidence that selling pressure is being absorbed.

For now, the next observable test is straightforward: continued negative CVD combined with a loss of $0.18 would expose the $0.174 liquidation region, while ADA holding $0.18 despite aggressive selling would signal that buyers are absorbing supply.
