XRP analyst ChartNerd has shared a long-term chart showing how XRP performed during previous market cycles, noting that these movements offer clues about its next major rally.
This came in a post on X, where he encouraged investors to look at the bigger picture. Specifically, he said, “Zoom out on XRP.”
The chart highlights XRP’s previous rallies and declines, along with Fibonacci levels suggesting the asset could rise above $8 in the long term.
XRP Historical Cycles Show Massive Rallies and Corrections
ChartNerd’s chart tracks XRP’s price movements from 2014 through 2026, highlighting three major bullish phases and their subsequent corrections.
The first major rally occurred between 2017 and 2018, recording an extraordinary gain of 111,098%. However, XRP subsequently experienced a 96.66% correction before beginning another major upward move.
The next bullish phase spanned 2020 to 2021 and delivered a 1,674% gain. Similarly, XRP later suffered another substantial correction, falling by 85.41%.
More recently, the chart highlights a 1,202% rally between 2022 and 2025. XRP has since declined by 71.70%, marking another significant correction in its historical cycle.
These movements illustrate how XRP has experienced substantial gains followed by deep pullbacks throughout its trading history.
ChartNerd’s XRP Price Targets Reach $27
Beyond comparing historical cycles, ChartNerd’s chart includes three Fibonacci extension levels that outline potential upside targets for XRP.
The first level is the 1.272 Fibonacci extension, which sits at $8.38. The next target is $13.55, corresponding to the 1.414 extension. Meanwhile, the 1.618 Fibonacci extension places XRP’s highest projected target at $27.06.
An upward-curving arrow on the chart illustrates the analyst’s long-term bullish outlook, suggesting that he expects XRP to rise significantly over time.
However, these Fibonacci extensions represent technical price projections, not guarantees. XRP would still need to overcome several market challenges to reach these levels.
XRP “Current Dip Is an Opportunity”
Amid the wait, ChartNerd has also encouraged XRP investors not to panic over the recent price decline as XRP falls to $1.20. He advised those who bought at higher prices to learn from the experience and avoid making decisions based on unrealistic price predictions.
He also suggested that investors use the current dip as an opportunity to lower their average buying price, adding that the opportunity might not last much longer.
In another post, ChartNerd pointed out that XRP has experienced declines of more than 70% only five times in its history, with 2026 marking the fifth occurrence.
According to the analyst, these major declines have historically been followed by strong recoveries. He believes the current correction will set the stage for another significant rally.
