Unknown Wallet Holds 1,801,172,630 XRP, Ranks Among Top 10 Accounts

Unlabeled Wallet Holds 1,801,172,630 (1.801 Billion) XRP, Ranks Among Top 10 Accounts.

An XRP Ledger wallet holding approximately 1.801 billion XRP ranks eighth in a September 24 rich-list snapshot published by XRP Tools using XRPSCAN data. It is the only address in that top ten without a named exchange or corporate label.

Unknown wallet holds 1.8B XRP
An unlabeled XRP Ledger wallet holds approximately 1.801 billion XRP, ranking eighth in the September 24, 2026 rich-list snapshot. The balance represents about 1.80% of XRP’s 100 billion maximum supply, placing the address between Bithumb and Binance in the ranking. The address, rJ9Ey7HbscSECamgDRzvw5wrVbFUgaUDt7, has a recorded balance of 1,801,172,630 XRP on Bithomp. That holding represents approximately 1.8% of XRP’s 100 billion maximum supply.

However, the absence of an ownership label does not establish that the wallet belongs to an individual. Bithomp’s account profile does not identify a named owner, leaving its classification as a personal, corporate, or custodial account unconfirmed.

Wallet Sits Between Bithumb and Binance Addresses

The September 24 snapshot places a Bithumb-labeled address seventh, with approximately 1.815 billion XRP, immediately above the unlabeled wallet. A Binance-labeled account follows in ninth position with approximately 1.578 billion XRP, while an Upbit address ranks tenth with 1.381 billion XRP.

The first six positions belong to Ripple-labeled accounts, each listed with approximately 5 billion XRP. Consequently, the top ten consist of six Ripple accounts, three exchange-labeled addresses, and one unlabeled wallet—not nine exchange accounts and a confirmed individual holder.

Account Was Activated With 10 XRP

Bithomp records show that the wallet was activated on December 1, 2024, through a payment of 10 XRP from the address beginning rLD5k3 and ending HjRViQ. The activation transaction was confirmed in ledger 92,485,979.

The same funding address subsequently sent 35.2 million XRP to the wallet on April 20, 2026. Transaction metadata records the recipient’s balance increasing from approximately 994.3 million XRP to 1.0295 billion XRP following that payment. The transaction carried a network fee of 0.000015 XRP.

These records establish the funding relationship between the addresses, but not a shared owner. XRP Ledger documentation specifies that funding an account does not confer control over it. It also notes that exchanges can hold customers’ XRP in shared accounts, meaning address-level balances should not automatically be interpreted as one person’s holdings.
