David Gokhshtein Says Midnight Could Follow Zcash Explosive Rally Path

Crypto commentator David Gokhshtein has reiterated his bullish outlook on Midnight’s native token NIGHT, suggesting that it could follow a growth trajectory similar to Zcash (ZEC).

Gokhshtein made the comment in a recent X post, saying “NIGHT could pull a ZEC,” while highlighting both projects’ different approaches to blockchain privacy.

According to him, Zcash built its reputation around private payments, while Midnight aims to bring privacy to smart contracts and decentralized applications through zero-knowledge proofs.

Why Midnight Stands Out

Gokhshtein emphasized that zero-knowledge technology can allow users and businesses to verify information without publicly revealing the underlying data.

He argued that this capability could be important for Midnight as blockchain adoption expands. In particular, individuals and companies may remain reluctant to conduct sensitive financial activities on fully transparent public ledgers.

Therefore, Gokhshtein views privacy as a significant opportunity for Midnight. However, the project’s ability to execute its vision and attract sustained adoption will ultimately determine how much value NIGHT can capture.

NIGHT Rallies More Than 30%

Gokhshtein made the comparison several days before NIGHT began a strong upward move.

Notably, NIGHT surged from an intraday low of $0.03384 to $0.04452, representing a gain of 31.6%. The token later eased to around $0.04394 in the hours leading up to press time.

At that level, NIGHT was still up 31.3% over the previous 24 hours and 88.8% over the past week, extending its recent rally.

As a result, the move has renewed comparison between NIGHT and ZEC, particularly as both projects form part of the broader cryptocurrency privacy narrative.

What NIGHT Could Be Worth If It Follows ZEC Growth Trajectory

Zcash has recorded a substantial rally over the past year. ZEC climbed from $74 to around $1,400, representing a gain of 1,790%.

The token has also spiked by 174% year-to-date, underscoring the scale of its recent appreciation. Against this backdrop, Gokhshtein’s thesis is that Midnight could potentially experience a similarly significant move if demand for privacy-focused blockchain applications increases and the project successfully executes its plans.

For perspective, if NIGHT were to replicate ZEC’s 1,790% one-year gain from its current price of $0.04394, the token would reach $0.83. With a circulating supply of 16.6 billion NIGHT, that price would correspond to a market cap of about $13.78 billion.

Other Bullish Outlooks for NIGHT

Gokhshtein’s comparison follows several other bullish comments about Midnight.

For instance, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has suggested that Midnight could eventually become larger than Zcash and has projected significant growth for the project from 2027 onward.

Similarly, market analyst Dan Gambardello emphasized that Midnight is undervalued by $5 billion, suggesting that NIGHT could command greater value if the market begins to price it alongside ZEC and XMR.

However, Zcash’s historical performance does not guarantee a similar outcome for NIGHT.
