These well-known cast will be paid in Ethereum for their contributions. To unlock all content, viewers will need to buy NFT. The show will attempt to educate viewers about cryptocurrency in five-minute episodes.

According to Coindesk report, the Stoner Cats must reach at least half of their 10,420 NFT funding goal to complete the season. Coindesk reports that even if the team is able to fully fund the project (worth approximately $7.5million), the cast will not receive the same amount as they would normally get by performing in a traditional TV show.

Coindesk Writes:

“To watch the first five-minute episode, viewers must purchase a non-fungible token (NFT) that is both a digital artwork of a randomly selected character from the show as well as a ticket to unlock all “Stoner Cats” episodes as they are made. The NFTs will sell for 0.35 ETH– about $750 at time of publication.”

Coindesk Quoted Morgan Beller a general partner at venture firm NFX saying:

“We see this as an opportunity to educate people [about crypto] and bring them into the fold. I personally think a lot of crypto resources are daunting, We need people and faces and voices that non-crypto people recognize and trust to start explaining these concepts. Even if this fails, we can make that happen.”

Buterin was featured in a documentary earlier this month called “Ethereum: The Infinite Garden”. The documentary raised 1,000 Ethereum as funding.
