Binance Eyes UK Return Under New FCA Crypto Regime

Binance is preparing a fresh push into the UK, with the crypto exchange planning to seek Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) approval once applications open under Britain’s incoming regulatory framework, The Telegraph reported.

The planned application would give Binance a route back into a market where its access has been curtailed for several years. The exchange stopped onboarding new British customers in 2023 following changes to UK financial-promotion rules.

Applications under the new framework are set to open on Sept. 30, 2026, more than a year before the regime takes effect on Oct. 25, 2027.

Crypto companies seeking authorization will need a UK presence and must satisfy the FCA’s governance and compliance requirements. Binance is expected to establish a UK board as part of its preparations, according to the report.

The exchange has faced regulatory constraints in Britain since 2021, when the FCA barred its UK entity from undertaking regulated activities.
