Bitcoin Posts Largest Weekly Dollar Gain on Record, Rising $14,775

Bitcoin added $14,775 to its price during the week of Aug. 17–23, the biggest weekly increase in dollar terms in its history, Galaxy Research reported. The cryptocurrency advanced from $62,818 to $77,593 over the period.

While the move set a record in dollar terms, its 23.5% increase was less exceptional on a percentage basis, ranking 41st among Bitcoin’s weekly gains. Galaxy Research said it was still the cryptocurrency’s biggest weekly percentage increase since March 2023.
