Chainalysis Seeks to Block US Government Contract Awarded to Rival TRM Labs

Chainalysis Government Solutions is seeking to block a U.S. government contract awarded to rival blockchain analytics firm TRM Labs, taking a dispute over federal procurement of crypto-tracing services to the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Specifically, the lawsuit challenges the process used by the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to select TRM Labs. Chainalysis alleges the agencies awarded the exclusive contract directly to TRM Labs without following normal competitive procurement procedures. 

TRM Labs has joined the proceedings as a defendant-intervenor supporting the U.S. government in the dispute.

The court has imposed a protective order because the case may involve competition-sensitive information. Oral arguments are set for Sept. 2, 2026.
