The U.S. Senate’s schedule for Monday includes only a vote on a spending bill, with no action listed for the CLARITY Act, leaving limited time for cryptocurrency market structure legislation before lawmakers begin their scheduled recess on Aug. 10.
Under the Senate’s standard procedures, if a cloture motion is filed on Wednesday, Aug. 5, a procedural vote on whether to take up the bill could occur as early as Friday, Aug. 7. That timeline would not allow for a final passage vote on the same day.
The measure could move more quickly if Senate leaders secure unanimous consent or advance it through a bipartisan petition, which would shorten procedural hurdles. For the legislation to progress before the chamber’s scheduled recess, it would need to advance by Aug. 10.
