Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong Says Personal X Posts Are Not Token Endorsements or Investment Signals

Coinbase Chief Executive Brian Armstrong said that content shared on his personal X account should not be interpreted as an endorsement of cryptocurrencies or blockchain projects while addressing criticism over the company’s support for the Base ecosystem.

Specifically, Armstrong said posts, profile picture updates, and memes published from his account do not represent backing for specific tokens, adding that he may not always be aware when an image becomes associated with a cryptocurrency.

He also reaffirmed Coinbase’s commitment to supporting developers building on Base through accelerator programs, grants, venture investments, and product integrations. At the same time, Armstrong said the company will not promote individual tokens or advocate for their listing on the exchange.
