Crypto Derivatives Volume Drops 11% to $3.03 Trillion in July, Binance Holds 46% Share

Crypto derivatives activity weakened across most of the 12 exchanges tracked by WuBlockchain Data Center in July, with aggregate volume falling 11.1% from the previous month to $3.03 trillion.

Binance accounted for 46.3% of the market with $1.40 trillion in derivatives trading volume. Adding volumes of $581.3 billion at OKX and $284.5 billion at Bybit put the three exchanges’ combined share at 74.9%.

Only Bitget, Gate and KuCoin recorded increases from June, with their volumes rising 23.5%, 21.1% and 7.3%, respectively. The other nine exchanges reported declines, with Deribit posting the steepest drop at 44.4%. HTX fell 25.7%, while Hyperliquid declined 18.5%.

June’s aggregate derivatives volume stood at $3.40 trillion. Separately, futures activity outpaced spot trading in July, pushing the futures-to-spot volume ratio up 13.6% from June, from 6.21x to 7.06x.
