Crypto VC Participation Hits Lowest Monthly Level Since November 2020, CryptoRank Says

Participation by venture capital firms in cryptocurrency funding rounds has dropped to its lowest monthly level since November 2020, according to data published by crypto market intelligence platform CryptoRank. 

As of July 28, 2026, 150 unique venture capital firms had participated in crypto funding rounds during July, CryptoRank said. The total is far below the peak of 1,177 active investors recorded in May 2022.

CryptoRank said the trend suggests that venture investment in the crypto sector is becoming increasingly concentrated among a smaller group of funds. The platform also said investors are becoming more selective when choosing projects.
