Crypto Whale Buys $50M Worth of ETH as Ethereum Nears $2,000

An unidentified cryptocurrency investor accumulated 25,425 Ethereum for 50.04 million DAI (about $50 million) over the past two hours through three newly created wallets, as Ethereum extended gains and approached the $2,000 mark.

Blockchain data shows the wallets, labeled 0x06cE, 0x3652, and 0xee10, purchased the tokens at an average price of $1,968 per ETH. The coordinated transactions suggest the wallets likely belong to the same entity, although ownership has not been independently verified.

Ethereum was up 4.5% over the previous 24 hours at the time of the purchases, bringing the second-largest cryptocurrency close to the psychologically important $2,000 level.
