Crypto-focused venture capital may be approaching its final major investment cycle as the industry consolidates around established blockchain networks, according to Haseeb Qureshi, managing partner at venture capital firm Dragonfly.
In an interview, Qureshi said continued growth in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins is likely to strengthen dominant platforms, reducing opportunities for new crypto startups to emerge.
He added that businesses built around a single financial product or dependent on third-party platforms for distribution are unlikely to create durable long-term value, arguing that the industry’s evolution could lead to greater centralization.
