ENS DAO Approves Two-Year Security Council to Block Malicious Governance Transactions

Crypto Updates, Latest Updates, Market updates

Ethereum Name Service (ENS) DAO has approved a new eight-member Security Council that will oversee key governance security functions for the next two years under a 5-of-8 multisignature structure.

The newly elected council will be empowered to block transactions it identifies as malicious during the mandatory two-day waiting period after governance proposals are approved, adding an extra layer of protection before those actions can be executed.

Its powers, however, remain limited. The council cannot move treasury assets, create or amend governance proposals, or override decisions made by ENS DAO token holders. The Security Council’s authority will automatically lapse at the end of its two-year term unless members vote to extend its mandate through a new governance proposal.
