Hyperliquid (HYPE) token climbed 23% to $72 after President Donald Trump said the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is working to bring the crypto platform into the United States through a legal and compliant framework.

The token briefly rose 25% and moved back above $70, putting it within reach of its June 16 all-time high of $76.87, according to CoinGecko data.

Trump made the comments during a White House event attended by technology leaders, where he said CFTC Chairman Michael S. Selig was working on the U.S. expansion of Hyperliquid.

Trump also pointed to Selig’s May authorization of what he described as the first true Bitcoin perpetual futures contract on a CFTC-registered exchange.

Selig separately highlighted several U.S. crypto policy developments, including the GENIUS Act, the creation of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and a regulatory distinction between crypto securities and commodities. He also cited the launch of the first U.S. crypto perpetual and protections for software developers.
