Wintermute CEO Evgeny Gaevoy said Hyperliquid faces two major long-term challenges — regulation and throughput — despite performing well in real-world assets (RWA), commodities, and equity trading.

Gaevoy, speaking in a recent interview with The Archive, said regulatory requirements could affect the platform’s structure if it seeks to compete with traditional markets such as CME and Nasdaq.

He said Hyperliquid may need to become increasingly centralized if it is eventually required to implement know-your-customer (KYC) procedures.

HYPE was trading at $59.43 at the time of writing, about 23% below its all-time high of $76.87 recorded on June 16, 2026.
