Israel’s Bits of Gold Probes Potential Data Leak Affecting About 200,000 Customers

Bits of Gold is examining whether personal information belonging to about 200,000 of its customers was exposed in a potential data leak, according to a report by Israeli media outlet Calcalist. The company is Israel’s largest regulated crypto broker.

The incident could affect most of the company’s user base, according to the report.

In 2022, Bits of Gold became the first company in Israel to receive a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license. The company was subsequently approved to launch BILS, a stablecoin designed to maintain a 1:1 peg to the Israeli shekel.
