Strategy founder Michael Saylor said artificial intelligence helped the company develop a new financing structure that contributed to about $15 billion in credit instrument sales after its capacity to issue convertible bonds became constrained.
Speaking in an interview with The Diary Of A CEO, Saylor said Strategy held roughly $30 billion in Bitcoin by early 2025 but had nearly exhausted its ability to raise additional capital through convertible bonds.
According to Saylor, AI was then used to develop STRK, a Bitcoin-backed preferred security with a conversion feature.
An initial public offering of STRK generated $2.5 billion for Strategy. The company subsequently recorded another $8 billion in sales under a shelf registration, while a separate instrument accounted for an additional $4 billion.
Together, the credit instrument sales amounted to roughly $15 billion, the figure behind Saylor’s statement that he had “used AI to make $15 billion.”
