Neynar Seeks New Operator for Farcaster Less Than Seven Months After Acquisition

Farcaster’s revenue has collapsed from its early-2026 levels as owner Neynar looks for another team to assume control of the decentralized social protocol and related businesses.

Gross protocol revenue, which reached $35.43 million in the first quarter, totaled about $377,000 from July 1 through Aug. 17.

Neynar is seeking a new operator for Farcaster alongside Clanker, a token-launch platform, and its developer platform. 

The potential handoff comes less than seven months after Neynar acquired Farcaster from Merkle Manufactory.
