Pump.fun Co-Founder Says He’s a ‘Massive Bear’ on Decentralization

Pump.fun co-founder Noah Tweedale questioned whether decentralization should remain a central priority for crypto products, saying user experience is the main consideration for the Pump Foundation. 

Tweedale told Crypto Insider that users ultimately care more about how well a product works than how decentralized its underlying infrastructure is. He described himself as a “massive bear on decentralization.” 

His argument draws on the development of the internet, where he said the eventual winners were companies that controlled the full stack and delivered better experiences rather than businesses focused on underlying infrastructure. 

Tweedale also contrasted Solana with Ethereum to illustrate his position. He attributed the migration of on-chain activity toward the relatively centralized Solana to what he considers Ethereum’s poor user experience. 

For Tweedale, the architecture of the underlying blockchain is secondary from an end-user perspective when the product delivers an optimal experience.
