Robinhood CEO Tenev Sees Stock Tokens as a Key DeFi Primitive

Stock tokens are emerging as one of the most important underlying assets on Robinhood Chain, CEO Vlad Tenev said, putting tokenized equities at the center of the blockchain’s expansion.

Speaking on Future Investing, Tenev said the chain has accumulated $10 billion in trading volume within weeks, compared with the years it took Robinhood to reach the same level. The network has also processed 100 million transactions faster than any other chain, he said.

Tenev attributed the pace of activity to a feedback loop between liquidity and trading volume. Major wallets have been quick to integrate Robinhood Chain, while developer activity ranks among the top, according to the CEO.

Tenev said he views the blockchain as a long-term project and is focused on whether total value locked, or TVL, continues to increase.
