South Korea’s five largest cryptocurrency trading platforms that support won transactions recorded net stablecoin outflows of 560.3 billion won (about $367 million) in June 2026, as transfers to overseas exchanges continued to exceed incoming funds, according to Yonhap News Agency.
The platforms transferred stablecoins worth 2.7625 trillion won abroad during the month and received 2.2022 trillion won, leaving a net outflow.
June also marked the 18th consecutive month of net stablecoin outflows from South Korea, a trend that has persisted since January 2025, according to Yonhap.
The transferred funds are believed to be used primarily for cryptocurrency and stock derivatives trading, real-world asset (RWA) products, decentralized finance (DeFi) services, and staking offerings that are not available on domestic cryptocurrency exchanges.
