Step App to Shut Down on Aug. 21 After Four Years of Operation

Crypto Updates, Latest Updates, Market updates

Move-to-Earn platform Step App said it will cease operations after four years, with all services scheduled to shut down by Aug. 21. The team advised users to unstake locked tokens and manage any remaining positions before the deadline.

In a statement, the project said it reached more than 1 million downloads during its operation and recorded billions of tracked steps, but had decided to wind down the platform.

The announcement follows exchange actions earlier this year. On July 16, South Korean cryptocurrency exchanges Upbit and Bithumb announced they would delist Step App’s governance token, FITFI.

FITFI was launched in an initial DEX offering (IDO) at $0.0049 and later climbed to an all-time high of about $0.73, representing a roughly 150-fold increase from its IDO price.
