Strategy left its Bitcoin holdings unchanged at 840,447 BTC last week, even as the company raised $2.01 billion by selling common stock and earmarked fresh cash for potential future BTC purchases.
Between Aug. 17 and Aug. 23, the company sold 18.26 million MSTR shares. It did not buy or sell any Bitcoin during the period.
Strategy directed most of the new capital into cash holdings. As of Aug. 23, it reported $1.59 billion in a newly created “USD Cash” pool, which can be used for Bitcoin treasury purposes, including BTC acquisitions, debt service, and share repurchases.
Separately, $300 million of the proceeds went into the company’s existing USD Reserve, bringing that balance to $5.10 billion. Strategy also spent $136.4 million repurchasing STRC preferred shares.
