Tether International held $6.814 billion more in reserves than liabilities at the end of 2025, according to financial statements that received an unqualified audit opinion from KPMG U.S.
KPMG’s opinion covered Tether International’s financial position, operating results and cash flows under U.S. GAAP. Tether said the 2025 financial statements were subject to its first full independent audit.
As part of its examination, KPMG tested the company’s assets and liabilities along with transaction records, valuations and related documentation.
The audit also covered Tether’s physical gold reserves, with KPMG inspecting every gold bar in the company’s inventory.
