Ripple wants to serve as a bridge for central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and PAC Global Launches XRP Node.
CBDCs are stable coins, whose value is linked to the national currency of a country. The European Central Bank (ECB) is researching this, China is already testing a digital Yuan.
Ripple describes in the report, called ”the Future of CBDCs,“ that XRP could serve as a neutral bridge to connect the various upcoming CBDCs. According to the report, central banks currently pay too little attention to cross-border payments with CBDCs.
Ripple calls the introduction of CBDCs “one of the most defining transformations in the history of money” and hopes to sell itself as an international player to government agencies.
