The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the world the value of digital technologies and their increasingly important role in healthcare. During 2020, VeChain partnered with I-Dante to develop blockchain-enabled healthcare solutions, jointly developing the E-HCert application, an archiving solution for COVID-19 RT-PCR recordings and antibody tests. The solution was implemented at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus and, between June and August, recorded the test results of more than 8,000 people who subsequently used them as part of the flight arrival process at Larnaca International Airport.
Driven by proven real-world value, E-HCert has launched its latest iteration; digital lab test wallet offering a blockchain-powered ecosystem of services that puts medical test results in the hands of patients while health authorities maintain data integrity. Following a demonstration of efficacy at Cyprus Mediterranean Hospital, another top-notch private healthcare facility, Areteio Hospital, has joined the VeChain ToolChain ™ platform and has integrated the E-HCert app into all of its laboratory testing services.
