According to data provided by crypto analytics platform Santiment, Ethereum surpassed Bitcoin in address activity for the first time.
Santiment writes:
“Following up on yesterday’s report on Ethereum FUD and the buy opportunity we saw, today has marked a historic day – For the first time in crypto history, ETH address activity is ABOVE $BTC address activity, as prices have soared back above $2,100.”

Earlier today, ETH hit a weekly high of $2,136 on Binance.
The second largest blockchain is seeing a spike in activity ahead of the highly anticipated EIP-1559 update, which is expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, active bitcoin addresses are at their lowest level since February.
BTC struggling to regain momentum after the bulls failed to overcome resistance at the $35,000 level. The ETH/BTC pair is seeing an apparent trend reversal, surging nearly 7 percent in the past 24 hours.
