Shiba Inu (SHIB) Ranks Ahead of Dogecoin (DOGE) in Twitter’s Top Ten Most Mentioned Cryptocurrencies.
Popular dog-themed cryptocurrency project Shiba Inu (SHIB) has continued to become famous among crypto enthusiasts on various social media platforms.
According to a recent study of the ten most mentioned cryptocurrencies last week, Shiba Inu occupied the fifth position in the data from crypto markets aggregation and analytics platform ‘Cryptorank’ provided.
Per the data, Shiba Inu had a total of 328,565 mentions on Twitter alone, leading the largest memecoin project, Dogecoin (DOGE), which had a mention of 307,029 last week.

Part of the reason Shiba Inu ranked among the ten most mentioned cryptocurrencies last week was due to its Thursday AMA session, where the company disclosed upcoming upgrades about the project.
The company, in an AMA session last week, disclosed that it will be releasing 99,000 plots of land in the Shiberse, which will be sold to investors in different phases.
Shiba Inu also noted that the company will be making an important announcement this week that will last in the hearts of enthusiasts forever.
With SHIBArmy, supporters of Shiba Inu, aware of the impact of Shiba Inu’s announcement on the SHIB’s value, it was expected that the cryptocurrency will be widely discussed across Crypto Twitter.
Other Coins Make the List
Aside from Shiba Inu and Dogecoin, other cryptocurrencies that made the list inlcude, Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tezos (XTZ), Baby Doge (BABYDOGE), Cardano (ADA), Safemoon (SAFEMOON), etc.
While Bitcoin ranked first with a total Twitter mention of 3,349,112 last week, Ethereum followed suit after recording 810,321 mentions.
Shiba Inu’s Growth
The achievement goes to affirm Shiba Inu’s popularity in the cryptocurrency community, which is usually accompanied by widespread adoption.
Shiba Inu is currently considered one of the most trending cryptocurrencies in recent times, following efforts by the project’s team to transition the crypto token from its memecoin state to a utility asset class.
Part of Shiba Inu’s team move to achieve this feat includes launching a decentralized exchange called ShibaSwap, a layer 2 blockchain dubbed Shibarium, among other developments.
Last year, Shiba Inu announced its foray into the world of metaverse, which started with the launch of its non-fungible token (NFT) known as Shiboshi as well as Shiberse, SHIB’s metaverse.
