Shiba Inu’s pseudonymous lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has revealed in a Telegram update that the much-anticipated Shibarium Beta testing phase will soon launch. According to a screenshot of the Telegram message, Kusama first said, “seriously, it’s coming,” before adding that “Beta is near for Shibarium,” an Ethereum L2 scaling network for the canine-themed cryptocurrency.

The Telegram screenshot was recently shared by famous Shiba Inu influencer KURO SHIBARMY JPN.

Members of the Shiba Inu community have expressed excitement over the imminent launch of Shibarium.

Shibarium Delay and Community’s Frustration

As reported by TheCryptoBasic, one of Shibarium’s development teams, called Unification, had disclosed earlier this year that the beta testing for the L2 network would launch by the end of September 2022. However, things did not go as planned, as Shibarium encountered a technical issue, which prompted the team to push the project’s launch date.

In recent weeks, many SHIB holders believed that Shibarium’s launch was around the corner after some team members shared a special countdown. Shiba Inu enthusiasts believe the countdown was for Shibarium after Kusama had previously revealed that his focus was on the L2 network. Unfortunately, many were disappointed to find out that the countdown was for the website upgrade. SHIB Trophias, a Shiba Inu top developer in-charge of the website upgrade, revealed that the website is necessary for the launch of Shibarium.

“First thing is to update our main website. This is much needed and this is our first step as we march towards Shibarium’s Beta launch. The entire website will not launch all at once. Phased rollouts will happen, and we’ll try to make it as smooth as possible,” Trophias said.

Meanwhile, the team has not chosen an exact date for Shibarium Beta testing. With the Christmas holidays around the corner, it is expected that Shibarium Beta testing may go live by early next year.
