CoinGate partners with Wix to enable merchants to accept Shiba Inu payments

Lithuania-based cryptocurrency payment processor CoinGate has entered into a new partnership that will further expand Shiba Inu’s use as a payment method.

The Paypers reported yesterday that CoinGate partnered with global SaaS platform Wix to enable merchants to accept SHIB payments.

Notably, Wix merchants in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, and Lithuania will be allowed to link CoinGate’s payment solution to their online stores. After completing the setup, Wix merchants can offer their customers the option of paying for goods using Shiba Inu.

Shiba Inu’s Popularity to Spike

The development comes over a year after CoinGate integrated Shiba Inu into its payment system. Through the integration of SHIB, over 500 CoinGate merchants were allowed to accept the crypto asset from shoppers in exchange for their merchandise.

In November, CoinGate noted that Shiba Inu ranked as the 12th most popular payment method via its payment gateway in just a year. Following CoinGate’s partnership with Wix, more merchants can now accept Shiba Inu, thus bolstering the popularity of the canine-themed cryptocurrency.

CoinGate’s Services

Aside from Shiba Inu, CoinGate supports more than 70 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

CoinGate’s partnership with Wix will enable merchants to withdraw and exchange all collected cryptocurrencies in one currency, such as USD, EUR, GBP, and BTC. Furthermore, CoinGate offers other tools for merchants, including an order tracking system, a refund system, and permission-based account management.

“CoinGate is focused on allowing people to participate in global economies, whether they own a bank account or use credit cards, while enabling merchants to serve them conveniently. CoinGate officials expressed their hope that the partnership will encourage more merchants to take advantage of cryptocurrency markets,” an excerpt of the report noted.

Meanwhile, there has been a growing adoption of Shiba Inu payments recently. Top crypto payment providers, including BitPay and Binance Pay, have supported SHIB to enable shoppers to pay for goods using the canine-themed cryptocurrency.
