Hoskinson’s comment comes on the back of entrepreneur Ross Calvin’s speculation.

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of IOHK and Cardano, recently responded to circulating speculations suggesting he is working on a joint venture through which he plans to purchase Georgia-based multinational media outlet CNN.

“I can’t confirm or deny,” Hoskinson said in a tweet today, replying to a statement from Ross Calvin, entrepreneur and founder of Parhelion Digital.

Calvin claimed that Hoskinson was launching a joint venture to pursue a potential acquisition of CNN and even asked billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk if he would be interested in participating in the venture. Musk has a track record of supporting free speech, as demonstrated by his acquisition of Twitter.

Charles’s Interest in Coindesk

It is difficult to determine the veracity of Calvin’s assertion or whether it is merely an instance of sarcasm. Nonetheless, it bears mentioning that this speculation emerged shortly after Hoskinson confirmed reports of his intention to acquire CoinDesk, a cryptocurrency media outlet owned by Digital Currency Group. This disclosure occurred during a Jan. 19 broadcast, coinciding with DCG’s liquidity challenges.

According to reports from Jan. 18, CoinDesk had enlisted the services of investment bank Lazard to aid in examining its options for a potential sale. Kevin Worth, the CEO of CoinDesk, revealed that the outlet was considering both full and partial sales. However, Hoskinson believed that the outlet’s asking price of $200 million was excessively high.
