Hoskinson’s private jet is the 15th-biggest polluter in the United States.

Per data shared by Climate Jets, an online platform that tracks the estimated CO2 emissions from private jets, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson’s jet ranks among the top 15 polluters in the U.S.

Interestingly, the jet is the 15th major private jet polluter in the U.S. as of 2022. The data shows that Hoskinson’s private jet emitted 2,895.06 metric tons of CO2 after flying for 562.37 hours, covering 283,434 miles (456,143 kilometers).

The private jet’s frequent destinations include United States cities such as Denver, Colorado, California, and New Jersey and other international destinations like London, United Arab Emirates, Belgium, and Canada.

Hoskinson’s Jet Ranks Ahead of Jay-Z and Mayweather

It is interesting to note that Hoskinson’s private jet CO2 emissions surpassed what was recorded for top American entrepreneurs and celebrity jets, including Kim Kardashian, Jay-Z, Floyd Mayweather, Mark Zuckerberg, etc.

Many people have reacted to Climate Jets’ statistics, with some criticizing the Cardano boss for ranking among the top 15 private jet polluters. Responding to these criticisms in a YouTube Live video in May, Hoskinson said his aircraft is mainly used for business purposes.

In the video, Hoskinson noted that people who own good private jets usually work in line with a third-party firm, thus making the aircraft available to clients who need it. To back up his claims, Hoskinson revealed the identities of some of his private jet clients, including prominent Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson (aka “The Rock”).

Hoskinson’s private jet emissions may surprise many, given that he revealed in 2021 that he only flies commercially. In a 2021 tweet, Hoskinson disclosed that he would only fly private once he cracked the code on how to make a profit from it.
